Adult Beginner Classes
These Sessions are open to Teenagers and Adults (ages 15 and up).
They are 1.5 hours in length once a week. Cost: $100, including Adults
Can Sew Activity Workbook. Each Session is a 4-week commitment
class. (For Summer Class dates - please scroll down.) A deposit of $50
secures you of a seat. It is recommended that first time students
purchase the "Adult Beginner Activity Packet", which will be handed out to
you on the first class. This packet is a great investment to learn the
basics in sewing and has seven simple patterns to choose from. After
you've completed several projects from the workbook, you may try
working on an easy commercial pattern. For ideas on easy patterns visit:

OPTIONAL: Student has the option to register for 4-week session with
duration of 2 hours per class (total of 8 hours of sewing). Cost $115, incl.
Adults Workbook.
All first-time students will begin their first project by making the "Sewing
Bag" (Draw String Bag). On the first class you will need the following
supplies. About 3/4 yard of woven blend fabric (e.g. denim or any other
sturdy fabric); 2 1/2 yards of cording, and an "all purpose" spool to match
fabric. If you want to make this bag into a "Back-Pack", you will need 3
1/2 yards of cording.
Classes are on a continuous basis, and students may return any time to
further their knowledge of sewing.
Seats are limited to 5 students per class, with a minimum of 2 students.

morning or afternoon session during Kids Summer Camp.
KNITTING CLASSES 2011
Please bring one skein of worsted medium weight yarn, and one pair of
US no. 8 or 9 needles. You can take all three classes, or just one or two
depending on your needs. Each class is 1.5 hours.
One class: $15; Two classes: $30; Three classes: $40*
*If you take more than one class, you must sign up for all classes at time
of purchase. Group class = Two or more students.
If individual (private) class, each class is $20.
Class 1: First steps
You will learn how to cast on and the basic knit stitch.
Class 2: Purl and more
You will learn how to purl and how to combine knit and purl stitches to
create basic stitch patterns, such as stockinette, seed, and rib.
Class 3: Completing project
On the last class you will learn how to bind off, how to weave in ends, and
other tips for completing project neatly.
