Adult Beginner Classes

These Sessions are open to Teenagers/Adults (age 15 and
up).  They are 1.5 hours in length once a week.  Cost: $120,
including Activity Workbook.  Each Session is a 6-week
commitment class. A deposit of $60 (non-refundable) is
required upon registration.  First time students will use the
"Adult Beginner Activity Packet", a Curriculum of the Kids
Can Sew and Fashion Design Schools, and specially
designed for adult beginners. This packet is a great
instruction book to learn the basics in sewing and has seven
simple patterns to choose from.  After you've completed
several projects from the workbook, you may try working on
an easy commercial pattern.  For ideas on easy patterns
visit:
Simplicity Patterns.

Materials for first Project
All first time students will start making the "Sewing Bag"
(Draw String Bag).  On the first class you will need to bring
the following supplies for this project:
About 1 yard of woven blend fabric (e.g. denim or any other
sturdy fabric); 2 1/2 yards of cording, and an "all purpose"
spool to match fabric.  If you want to make this bag into a
Back Pack, you will need at least 3 yards of cording.

Seats are limited to 5 students per class.  Classes are on a
